South West Queensland Soccer Zone is bounded by Stanthorpe in the south, east to Laidley & Gatton, up to areas in South Burnett including Kingaroy, Yarraman, Wondai & Nanango, and out to Roma, St George & Goondiwindi in the west. South West Queensland is one of the largest zones in area in Queensland.

MEDIA RELEASE- Toowoomba scores major win

Toowoomba and South West Football has scored a major win with the announcement that Toowoomba will host a Hyundai A-league pre-season game this month.

Brisbane Roar announced in Toowoomba this morning that the city had won the right to host its match against Melbourne Heart in the 2010/11 Hyundai A-League season.

In a further coup, the match will mark the first time Melbourne Heart has played a sanctioned match against Hyundai A-League opposition, providing some history to the occasion.

The match will be held at the Clive Berghofer Stadium on Friday 25 June with a 7.15pm kick-off.

It is a major triumph for Toowoomba and for the regional football community having hosted only one other Hyundai A-league game.

Brisbane Roar Head Coach Ange Postecoglou made a special trip to Toowoomba today to make the announcement.

The FREE Coach Education Session planned tonight with Former Socceroos Coach - RALE RASIC is still going ahead at West Wanderers Clubhouse from 6pm-8pm.

There is NO outdoor training session with players, however Rale is doing an indoor session with Coaches only.

Have your say on Daylight Saving

Toowoomba and South West Queensland residents are being urged to have their say on a trial of daylight saving for South East Queensland.
Premier Anna Bligh has asked Toowoomba North MP Kerry Shine to provide feedback by mid-May on support or opposition for the introduction of an SEQ trial and a referendum, potentially from this summer.

SWQ U19 Team

The SWQ U19 team participating in the Hyundai Qld State Youth League have had a good start to their season.

Round 1 last Saturday 27th March, played at home at West Wanderers, saw a 4 all draw with the QAS team.

Round 2 on Saturday 3rd April at the Gold Coast saw a 5-3 win to the SWQ boys.

Round 3 will be on this Saturday 10th April against the Brisbane Strikers with kick off at 5pm at Commonwealth Oval, Toowoomba.

Come along and cheer on the SWQ boys and enjoy a great game of football
